Orim Energy strengthens position with office in Europe’s centre of fuel oil trade

Senior fuel oil trader Leon Dijkhuizen appointed for new Geneva office

Bergen op Zoom – 1 October 2024 – Orim Energy, a leading oil trading company that specializes in the blending and bunkering of sustainable marine energy, has opened an office in Geneva, the centre of fuel oil trading in Europe. With the appointment of the highly experienced fuel oil trader Leon Dijkhuizen as Global Book Leader Fuel Oil at the office, Orim Energy is well-positioned to further grow its bunker and cargo trading business in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region and Mediterranean (MED), and develop trade opportunities in the US Gulf and the Carribs.

Opening an office in Geneva fits with Orim Energy’s strategy and is a logical next step in achieving its growth ambitions. Geneva’s strategic location will enhance access to key oil trading partners, markets and sources, facilitating efficient operations. To ensure the team realizes its true potential, the company hired senior fuel oil trader Leon Dijkhuizen; he will be based at the Geneva office.

Coming from a large trading company, Leon Dijkhuizen is well-connected and brings extensive market knowledge to the team. In his new role in Geneva he will be responsible for streamlining operations and driving fuel oil trade, leveraging his  30 years of  industry experience . A strong presence in Geneva will further strengthen Orim Energy’s leading market position in ARA and MED, offering reliable and cost-effective marine fuel solutions for today and tomorrow.
